Day 26

Purple and black . . .
Their faces frozen in hideous grins
And yet I prefer their company

You hide behind digitalized letters
Face absent but no less metalic
A haughty air that reflects into
this amorphous face
Yet the mirror quakes as you stare through it
Alone . . . and yet the divide is of your making
For the mirror itself would crack to powder
If the gaze was focused but for an instant . . .
Let alone the crystalline facade

Day 24

Latest obsession – reading Sherlock Holmes.
For some reason it is always way more enjoyable to procrastinate when there are tons of things you need to do.
That and staying up late when you have to get up early the next morning.

Day 23

My friends got back from Paris.
This time without me having to wake up/stay up to the wee hours of the morning to retrieve them.
I got to see some of the pictures and am now very jealous.
Though the Kingdom of the Dead pics were a bit disturbing.
I had read a book a few years ago that had a scene with chattering skulls
in the catacombs under Paris, and I totally underestimated the scale.
It was a lot more creepy after I had a frame of reference.

Day 22

I joined a LARP group
(That’s where the picture from yesterday came from)
I was bored most of the day . . .
Until I decided to make foam weapons
and a shield after dinner.

Note: Don’t eat dinner with vampires. Your food gets delayed for 90 mins as they have to prepare special non-garlic marinated chicken.
Stupid Vamps . . .

My friend may not actually be a vampire. I’ll let you decide for yourself. Here are the facts. She is a nurse who worked nights, is ghostly pale, wears SPF infinity+, has a back up bottle of sunblock (and still burns), used to work as a phlebotomist (one for the tests, one for me . . .), is deathly allergic to garlic (she leaned on a cutting board that had been rinsed and broke out in red welt up her arm), keeps pics of old actors (when they were young . . . like a half century ago) in her bathroom, wears Victorian jewelry, and is obsessed with history. So, should I break out the stakes or what?!

Day 20

After getting back from visiting relatives at 315, I slept in pretty late and then got to work.
Dealt with some writer’s block, listened to the same 10 songs over and over again until I tuned them out, drove my friend nuts with said songs, finished a project I was working on . . .
All and all a pretty effective day . . . minus the crazy friend
